Roadrunners Abroad in the UC

Ani

Ani Arriaga, a University Center student employee, was selected as a finalist in the International Education Week Photo Contest.  Her photo, along with those of several other finalists, is on display at Gallery 23’s Roadrunners Abroad exhibit November 11th through January 24th. Ani’s photo is an amazing shot overlooking Machu Picchu.

In Ani’s words about her experience, “Peru is a mystic country in which one of the biggest and most powerful civilizations was settled. My experience in Peru was surprising. I had always seen pictures of Machu Picchu and thought that it would be amazing to be there but I never thought that Peru was growing at such fast pace. During our 10 days in Peru, we got to see how the tourist and mining industries are growing in Lima and also all the amazing culture it has. This experience made me grow as a person and as a businesswoman. It made me more open to different ways of thinking and also value everything we have in America.”

Thank You Rowdy

RobbyTYR

On the morning of November 11, a delegation from the UTSA Career Center honored UC Event Multimedia Specialist, Robbie Hopper, by presenting him with the Thank You Rowdy.  Yvonne Gonzalez, the Career Center’s Associate Director listed reasons such as his outstanding customer service and ability to bring a sense of calm to their normally stressful job fairs.

They wish to petition to have him named “the most interesting man alive” as they consider him a wonderful friend of the Career Center and someone who truly epitomizes the 4 C’s.

Congratulations Robbie!
