To celebrate this year’s homecoming game, the UCPC presents Ali Siddiq for Homecoming Comedy Night. Siddiq is a native Texan, hailing from Houston, and has worked with many comedians including: Katt Williams, Mike Epps, Bill Belamy, and more. He has appeared on BET’s “Comic View,” the “All-Star Comedy Jam,” as well as HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam.” Come on out to the festivities and enjoy an evening of laughs.

The UCPC and the UTSA Film Society bring you the RRLN: Haunted Homecoming Fest. Come on by on October 26th, after the game for free food, fun, and excitement featuring Dead Orbit, a haunted house, in the HEB UC Ballroom. The party starts at 9pm. Don’t miss it!

The University Center Program Council has a semester full of programs offering food, music, fun, and more. The entire UTSA Community is invited to participate in the events that typically run from Thursday through Saturday each week.

The Coffeehouse series, on Thursdays at 8pm, features live entertainment from musicians to poetry jams and open-mic nights. The next Coffeehouse Concert on 11/7 will feature Risa Binder on the UC Lawn behind HEB UC. Come out and join us for free pizza and great music!


UCinema Night on Fridays and Saturdays is a great way to see popular movies before they’re available on DVD.

2014 Civil Rights Exploration Trip

January 7 – 11, 2014, the Student Leadership Center will be sponsoring their annual Civil Rights Exploration trip to New Orleans, La., Birmingham, Ala., and Memphis, Tenn. The trip affords students the opportunity to experience the history of the Civil Rights Movement and visit historical sites such as: the Civil Rights Institute, 16th Street Baptist Church, the Slave Haven Underground Railroad, and the Mason Temple.

 UTSA Global Brigades Honduras Trip

This past August UC student employees, Alexandria Deal and Angel Vasquez, along with 35 other students in the UTSA Global Brigades, had the opportunity to visit Honduras and provide basic medical, dental, and pharmaceutical care to the rural communities of La Cienega, Silisgualagua, and Liquidambos. The group also held “charla,” or public health discussions on personal and environmental hygiene and family planning to over 800 individuals. In Angel’s words, “Over 800 new Roadrunners were made in that week.” As a bonus, on their final day in Honduras, they were able to assist in digging trenches that will provide over 500 homes with fresh water.
