This February 22nd and 23rd, UTSA’s University Center sent three of the university’s most competitive Table Tennis, 9-Ball Billiards, and XBox Madden 2013 players on campus to participate in the Region 12 Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Recreation Tournament. The tournament was hosted by Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
UTSA students performed well and finished in the top 5 of each category. Eli Arzola (above right), won 2nd place in Madden 2013. Hung (Elvis) Tran placed 4th in 9-Ball Billiards and Uriel (Alex) Guajardo placed 5th in Table Tennis.
“The skill level represented by our selected UTSA students was top-notch” said Program Coordinator, Trey Payne. These students were invited to the tournament by winning ACUI qualifier tournaments hosted by The Roost Gameroom.
Every year, the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), holds regional and national recreation tournaments for qualifying students from colleges and universities. For more information visit the ACUI Student Programs website.
